COSCO SHIPPING Launches Dedicated Rail-Sea Container Train for Export of JMC Automobile

news-details

On September 8, a dedicated rail-sea container train for JMC Automobile Export operated by COSCO SHIPPING departed from Nanchang, Jiangxi province, and headed for South America and the Middle East via Xiamen Port and Ningbo Port, respectively. It is also the first special rail-sea container train launched for the transport of finished automobiles in the central regions of China.

Beginning in June of this year, JMC was unable to sign its trading orders due to the failure of timely delivery of products caused by shipping capacity shortages of ro-ro vessels.

Upon knowing that, COSCO SHIPPING Lines Wuhan took quick actions with the support and help of the headquarters. Leveraging its experience in automobile transport through waterway container shipping, the company collaborated with COSCO SHIPPING Lines Xiamen and Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal, and worked with local railroads, yard stations and customers to adopt the innovative “Nanchang-Ningbo-Middle East” and “Nanchang-Xiamen-South America” rail-sea intermodal transport mode to help customers address the pain points and difficulties they encountered in transport. The company worked non-stop for 10 days and nights in spite of the high temperature and finally completed the loading of JMC vehicles on to the train to ensure the timely delivery of the first batch of JMC vehicles to the Middle East and South America. The effort was vastly recognized by JMC and the consignees.
